For the Moments I Feel Faint

Long way gone…that’s the way my life feels like currently. I
am sorry for those of you who wait and click refresh on a daily basis waiting for a new post. But let’s face it, there are not that many of you and most of you find out details about my life through the gossip mill anyway. This past month has brought about many different changes, specifically busy season.

Ahhh, busy season. One of those things that the professors
threaten you with all through school yet the actual concept seems like a silly little device that they use only to scare. This concept isn’t real…is it? While I’m not yet working crazy 100 hour workweeks, I still have a long day by the time I wake up and advance through my day. Leaving the jobsite around 7-8 and
then fighting DC traffic all the way home for 4 miles, doesn’t it sound like fun?

For all the negative sounding tones coming from that
paragraph, I really do love my co-workers and job. I may not have many friends yet but to be honest, I don’t have time for more friends than I do have, thus it all seems to work out in the long run.

Moving on to another topic for a minute, is my closet. While
those of you who really know me, you can only imagine what my closet looks like. Now that I have started a big girl job, this monster known as my closet has only gotten worse. I think back to when Liz helped me move my closet from Harrisonburg to DC and cringe thinking what the next move will look like. Yikes!

There has been many other things to happen to me during this
break from blogging but for the sake of myself, I am choosing not to disclose many details. All you need to know is that I’m healthy and safe.
J Perhaps one day shall come when I feel like disclosing these items but for now, I’m sorry. Ask me in person if you really want to know.

Farah and I were discussing our plans for New Years Eve this
year last night at dinner. We talked about going to NYC but decided that a three day weekend was too expensive after looking up hotel prices. Thus, I think we are going to do it up right here in DC. Thus, if any of you are looking to have plans, you know where you can find us.

Last Saturday I went to Sam and Marissa Buck’s wedding in
Harrisonburg. It was so pretty and set in an outside setting under a giant white tent. Seeing Sam get married after spending four years at EMU with him was a great experience. I’m so happy they invited me to spend the weekend with them!

For those of you who even ate any of Ruth Smith’s cookies, I
have to let you know that I made Ruth’s oatmeal sugar cookies and took them to work with me yesterday. Everyone loved them and I got tons of compliments. The whole batch is almost gone. The team seems to find it exciting that I bake. So because I enjoy baking but always have too many leftovers for me to eat, I have become the baking genius of the room. So far I have made monster cookies, peach muffins, banana nut muffins, oatmeal cookies, and small other goodies for the room. If you ever want to figure out how to get into your co-workers good graces after just starting, bring sugary items. It worked for me!
J

Anyway, there was no goal to this post when I started out writing and now I have written a bunch of paragraphs of nothingness but it was more than time for me to update everyone. As one last reminder to those of you who haven’t seen me in a while, I will post a few photos that should maybe give you a sense of who I am. Enjoy. Make fun.

  1. Oh, Ashley pictures from yesteryear. I'm feeling old and nostalgic, mostly the latter! And inquiring minds want to know what else has happened during this blogging break. I'm not privy to new info from the gossip mill, so share. Let me live vicariously. :)
